How to Use the Roll-On Wax Heater
Follow these steps for a clean and smooth wax session:
1. Prep the Device and Wax
- Insert the cartridge: Take a compatible soft wax roller cartridge and push it all the way down into the top opening of the heater. Keep the plastic seal on the roller head for now.
- Plug it in: Attach the power cord to the bottom of the device and plug it into an electrical outlet.
- Heat the wax: Let the device sit upright and heat for 20 to 30 minutes. The box notes “12 minutes”, but standard formulas roll much smoother if heated a bit longer.
2. Prepare Your Skin
- Wash and thoroughly dry the skin area you want to wax.
- Make sure your skin is completely free of body lotions, oils, sweat, or makeup.
- You can apply a very light dust of baby powder to absorb any hidden skin moisture.
3. Test and Apply
- Remove the seal: Once the wax is fully melted, carefully unplug the cord and slowly peel off the protective plastic tape or seal from the roller head.
- Test the roller: Roll the head across a clean wax strip a few times until the roller moves smoothly and leaves an even layer of wax. [1]
- Apply to skin: Hold the device at a slight angle. Roll the wax directly onto your skin in a single, thin layer following the exact direction of your hair growth.
4. Remove the Hair
- Place the strip: Immediately press a non-woven cloth or paper wax strip firmly over the layer of fresh wax. Smooth it down a few times with your hand in the direction of hair growth.
- Pull it off: Hold your skin tightly taut with one hand. With your other hand, grab the bottom edge of the strip and pull it off in one quick, firm motion opposite to the direction of hair growth. Keep the pull close and parallel to the skin rather than pulling straight up.
- Note: Do not apply soft wax over the exact same patch of skin more than once to prevent irritation or skin tearing.
5. Clean Up
- Soft wax does not wash away with water. Use a post-wax oil, baby oil, or almond oil on a cotton pad to quickly dissolve and wipe off any sticky residue left behind.
